Impact

Memphis Union Mission has been the Mid-South’s primary service provider to the homeless since 1945, and it continues in that role even as the number of homeless individuals in the city has steadily increased. Despite this scale of impact, Memphis Union Mission receives no municipal, county, state, or federal funding.

Last year we provided 144,366 nights of shelter.

We served 382,788 meals last year.

86% of the people we serve indicate they access our services on a daily basis. For these clients, the Mission becomes their temporary lifeline.

Memphis Union Mission serves over 90% of Shelby County individuals who use emergency shelters.

Memphis Union Mission operates solely through the generosity of private donors and does not receive any municipal, county, state, or federal government funding.
