Impact

Memphis Union Mission has been the city’s primary service provider to the homeless since 1945, and it continues in that role even as the number of homeless individuals in the city has steadily increased.

Memphis Union Mission serves over 90% of Shelby County individuals who use emergency shelters.

Last year we provided 118,626 nights of shelter.

We served 308,648 meals last year.

86% of the people we serve indicate access our services on a daily basis. For these clients, Missions become their temporary lifeline.

Despite the COVID pandemic, we’ve stayed open to the public with proper safeguards.
