Happy Independence Day from Memphis Union Mission

As we celebrate Independence Day, we give thanks to God for the many blessings we enjoy as a nation. The Fourth of July is a time to gather with family and friends, reflect on the freedoms we cherish, and remember those who have served to protect them.

At Memphis Union Mission, this holiday also reminds us of another kind of freedom—the freedom that comes through Jesus Christ.

Every day, men, women, and families come to the Mission carrying burdens that seem impossible to overcome. Some are battling addiction. Others are facing homelessness, broken relationships, or overwhelming hardship. Many arrive searching for immediate help, but discover something even greater: the hope of the Gospel and the opportunity for lasting transformation.

Through Christ-centered recovery, compassionate care, and the generosity of faithful supporters, lives are being restored every day. Individuals are achieving sobriety, preparing for employment, rebuilding relationships with their families, securing permanent housing, and discovering a new purpose in Christ.

As we celebrate the freedoms we enjoy as Americans, we are especially grateful for the freedom Christ offers to all who place their trust in Him.

“So if the Son sets you free, you will be free indeed.”John 8:36

From all of us at Memphis Union Mission, we wish you and your family a safe, joyful, and blessed Independence Day.

Thank you for partnering with us as we continue bringing hope, healing, and lasting transformation to the Mid-South through the love of Jesus Christ.
